A University of Florida alumnus, Dr. Alan H. Porter is a medical professional with close to five decades of experience in the field. Alongside a medical degree that he earned in 1971, Dr. Alan Porter holds a bachelor of science in chemistry and a master’s in radiation physics.
Board certified by the American College of Radiology, where he is also a fellow, Dr. Porter is the director of Sarasota, Florida-based Porter Radiation Oncology, which he established in 1975. Alongside the practice, he is involved in several nonprofit organizations, including being a founding trustee of the Hospice Foundation of Sarasota Manatee, and Charlotte counties.
Dr. Alan H. Porter is also a consultant to Medicare Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Florida, while also holding membership in the Physicians Advisory Council. A member of the Florida Radiological Society, he has previously served as the organization’s president.
Throughout his career, he has received several accolades, such as being placed on the Best Doctors in America list of Woodard and White on 14 occasions.
